How long have you been a member of MSAE?
I have been a member of MSAE since the late 1980’s! I was a member with a previous employer for 22 years and then with my current employer for 10 years.

What do you value the most from MSAE?
I have attended many of the educational programs throughout the years and have learned so much that has added to my knowledge and understanding of how associations work and how to improve personally and professionally.

What would you tell others about MSAE?
It is great to be in an organization where everyone understands the unique ways in which associations work and how they serve their members. All the members I have met and worked with share a lot of the same struggles are happy to share new ideas and strategies.

What are your hobbies/interests?
I enjoy reading, especially mystery/suspense novels. I also enjoy the outdoors and go camping with my husband as often as I can as well as join family for beach vacations.

What is your favorite place to visit in Missouri?
All the state parks and wineries along the way!

Brandi Abbott

Tell us who you are, where you work and what your title is.
My name is Brandi Abbott. I have been the Director of Sales for the Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center in St. Joseph, MO for almost 7 years. Before coming to Stoney Creek I was the Marketing & Sales Manager for a local newspaper. I am the Mom of 2 ornery children, a son who is 18 and a daughter who is 8. My wonderful husband has been by my side for over a decade and I know that I would not be able to make it through this crazy life without him!            www.stoneycreekhotels.com

How long have you been a member of MSAE?
I have been a member for a little over 6 years! Crazy how fast time flies when you are having fun!

What do you value the most from MSAE?
NETWORKING! NETWORKING! NETWORKING! Getting to know other Associate Members and learning from them has been extremely beneficial in my career. Also getting to know the Event planners in many associations has increased our brand awareness and allowed us to expand our business within the association industry.

What would you tell others about MSAE?
MSAE encourages the Associate Members to learn from the planners and about the planning process. There are many opportunities offered for planners to teach us what they are looking for when sending out RFPs. I would encourage anyone to be an active member in the association and attend as many of the educational sessions as possible, not only are you there to learn and expand your own business but you are there to learn about the needs of other members and how you can better serve the clients.

What are your hobbies/interests?
In my free time, I enjoy riding our side by side with family and friends, Barbeques on our back deck, and watching my kids in all the activities they are involved in.

What is your favorite place to visit in Missouri?
I am partial to my St. Joseph roots.....There are so many things to do and see in our little town! A few of my favorites are: visiting the Glore Psychiatric Museum, the Pony Express Museum, and visiting Krug Park to feed the fish with my kids.
